When You’ve Had Enough Negative Feelings
FRUSTRATION that they won’t keep their socks on?
ANGER that you have to wipe water off the bathroom floor again?
FEAR they’ll hurt themselves climbing too high?
GUILT for yelling when they refused to put on their jacket?
HELPLESSNESS because you don’t know how to convince them anymore?
SHAME in front of others because they’re acting how they “shouldn’t”?
DISAPPOINTMENT that you’ve told them a thousand times and they still don’t get it?
FRUSTRATION that they won’t leave the pool to come eat?
ANGER that they just won’t listen and flat-out refuse to leave?
FEAR they’ll get sick again?
GUILT because you almost snapped?
HELPLESSNESS because they’re crying and you don’t know why?
SHAME when they scratch their butt in front of the whole town?
DISAPPOINTMENT when you thought you were giving a gift and it ended in a meltdown?
FRUSTRATION that it feels like they’re doing everything against you?
ANGER that you’re cleaning food off the floor again?
FEAR of another day full of fights and useless explanations?
GUILT for not being gentler — but you were just too exhausted?
HELPLESSNESS because you wish you could take away their pain — but they still have to go through it?
SHAME over their rude behavior that makes them look “uneducated”?
DISAPPOINTMENT when they don’t like anything you cooked for them?
The cycle keeps repeating. Daily. Dozens of times a day. For months. For years.
And just like that — time flies.
You look back and it feels like there were no beautiful moments.
You start to doubt whether you’re even capable of having a good relationship with your child.
You start counting the days until they grow up, move out — and you can finally breathe again.
Maybe then, peace will come.
If you’ve decided you’ve had enough and you want to find out how to (re)create change — in yourself and your relationship — go to “Become a Better Mother” on this site and explore the ebook, articles, and exercises created just for you.
Because I know how it feels.
And it can get better. It can be beautiful.
It can be filled with good emotions.
And the hard ones… will become just memories.
In need of a book to explain how to train your good feelings? The Become a Better Mother Guide, the Method in the Madness is available. You can download it in PDF format on this website or order it in physical format on Amazon here.
