When the ego speaks vs. when the soul speaks.
How to know who you’re really talking to
There’s a deep difference between conversations that drain you and those that fill you up.
It’s not about the topic or how long the discussion lasts.
It’s about who is with you in that conversation.
The ego? Or the soul?
Most interactions around us happen between egos.
That’s where we play out learned roles. We give programmed replies.
We listen just to respond, not to feel.
We rush to give advice, opinions, or solutions — without truly being present.
But when a soul speaks… everything shifts.
How do you know you’re facing a present soul?
They offer you space. They don’t interrupt you. They’re not in a hurry to “fix” you.
They look at you with softness and acceptance — because they have an innate understanding.
They don’t judge. They don’t have rigid opinions. They don’t try to convince you of anything.
They don’t set conditions for accepting you. They don’t ask you to be someone else.
They listen to you like watching a beloved show — with curiosity, trust, joy.
They speak about deeply lived experiences, about lessons learned, about sincere desires and the passion to manifest them in the world.
A present soul lets you be.
Not because they have nothing to say, but because they know your truth deserves to be received, not corrected.
The ego, on the other hand, reacts differently:
It’s uncomfortable with silence.
It always has an opinion — and wants to “download” it into you.
It doesn’t give you space to express yourself. It interrupts. It corrects.
It listens just enough to prepare its next reply.
It doesn’t hear your words as truth, but as a flawed opinion needing “adjustment.”
It clings to rigid, learned beliefs and projects them as “the right way.”
It speaks from fear, from the need to control, from habit.
Because… the ego doesn’t live. Only the soul does.
The ego is just a character.
A set of traits designed to help you navigate life when the soul isn’t present.
It’s useful, yes. But it was never meant to lead — only to assist.
To dress the soul’s desires in the right abilities, depending on its purpose.
But when the ego takes over, and the soul is forgotten…
The human lives on autopilot.
Feels lost. Disconnected. Empty.
And nothing can fill that void — except the return of the soul to the driver’s seat.
So the next time you’re in conversation, ask yourself:
Do I feel seen? Or corrected?
Do I feel accepted? Or analyzed?
Am I being given space? Or being asked to be someone else?
That’s where the truth is.
